Strong Arm Robbery Investigation

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (October 21, 2013/9:30 AM) – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery and assault that occurred outside a North end movie theater late last night.

Just before 11 pm last night, Sheriff’s deputies responded to Northridge Plaza (435 William Hilton Pkwy) in reference to a strong arm robbery occurring moments earlier. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a 56-year old male, bleeding from the face, who advised he’d just been robbed.

The victim, owner/operator of Northridge Cinema 10, advised that he was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by a black male asking the time. When the victim looked down at his watch, the suspect attempted to punch the victim. The victim was able to avoid the first punch, however, the suspect swung again, striking the victim in the face.

The suspect then grabbed the bank bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim, and fled the area in a small, blue 2-door vehicle driven by a black female. The male suspect was described as being between 20-30 years of age, approximately 6’02”, 200 lbs wearing dark clothing. No description was available of the female driver.

The victim sustained a large laceration to the face and was transported to Hilton Head Medical Center for treatment.
